This week we present our animated chart of the largest employers in America among our big, public companies.  In the last three weeks, we have published similar charts based on revenues, on profits, and on market capitalization, all of which can be found by clicking here.

In this new chart below (also available as a video with music), showing the change in the 20 biggest employers over the last 28 years, you can see fundamental changes in the structure of our economy and industries.  Retailing has always employed a lot of people, but Walmart replaced Sears and Amazon came up fast in recent years.  The chart can be paused and moved at your own rate using the timeline at the bottom of the chart.
